Why composite veneers?
Fast results
Unlike braces which require years to straighten your smile, with composite veneers you can have it all done within days and sometimes even hours.
Inexpensive
With a starting price of £395 per unit (per tooth), nothing in cosmetic dentistry comes even close to the cost-effectiveness of composite veneers.
Non-invasive
Unlike ceramic veneers, composite veneers are gentle to the tooth and your natural enamel stays mostly intact under the veneer.
How are composite veneers done?
Step 1
To create your composite veneers our specialist will first examine your teeth and discuss your requirements with you.
Optional: If you wish, or if it is necessary in your case, a mockup or the potential final result may be created before proceeding. The mockup will allow you to see how your teeth will look at the end of the procedure to ensure that you will have your desired results.
Step 2
Our specialist will start applying the dental composite resin, particularly designed for composite veneers, layer by layer onto your teeth. To ensure the first layer attaches well, the dentist will very gently scratch the surface of the tooth enamel first.
Step 3
Similar to the process of applying a white filling, the final step will be to shape and polish the teeth. To maintain your beautiful smile it is essential that you visit your specialist once a year for polishing your veneers and ensuring they’re intact.
What are composite veneers suitable for?
Questions and answers
How durable are composite veneers?
Composite veneers have the same predicted durability as porcelain ones but could last even longer. The way they are built-up, layer by layer, makes them stronger and prevents them from breaking easily. Unless you suffer dental trauma or make lifestyle choices which can harm your veneers, you can expect them to last between 6 and 10 years.
How often should I visit the dentist?
You should continue visiting the dentist as regularly as before for your dental check-ups. Add at least one annual visit to your specialist, to have your veneers checked and polished (staining can develop on composite veneers if not maintained properly).
