Broken tooth fix

Having a broken tooth is undoubtedly an unpleasant experience. But there’s more to it, than merely a cosmetic inconvenience.

Breaking a tooth can expose the engine of the tooth (or even the pulp) to the bacteria within the mouth. Consequentially, this can lead to the development of caries, affecting and damaging the tooth. Luckily, a broken tooth can be cured rather easily as long as you promptly visit a dentist.

Cracked tooth treatment

Put under pressure for an extended period of time due to teeth misalignment or pressured strongly during an accident, teeth can crack, exposing the dentine to the bacteria within the mouth and the one we consume with food.

Your dentist can repair the crack with an entirely pain-free procedure, using composite resin to fill in the crack and restore the integrity of the tooth.

If you crack a tooth, call us on 020 7278 6362 to book an emergency appointment and avoid dental infection.

Chipped tooth treatment

Chipped tooth treatment Kings Cross London

In most occasions, a chipped tooth will only create a cosmetic concern. Nonetheless, the appearance of any rough edges can result in damage to other teeth or the soft tissue in the mouth.

The best treatment for a chipped tooth is cosmetic bonding. By using a composite resin designed explicitly for bonding, your dentist will be able to restore the shape of the tooth. To complete the procedure, the dentist may gently file the area of the tooth which needs restoring, applying glueing agent, and then build up the tooth to its original shape, finishing the work by polishing the surface of the composite.

Broken filling

Broken filling treatment, Kings Cross, London

Broken fillings are a common occurrence, mainly when the fillings are larger, or if they haven’t been replaced in a very long time.

TIP: we recommend that you replace your fillings approximately once every ten years. This will help you ensure that no caries is developing underneath the filling.

If you break a filling, do not ignore it and book an appointment as soon as you can. To replace the broken filling, the dentist will thoroughly remove the old one and clean the surface of the tooth. They will then apply glueing agent and restore the filling, building it up layer by layer using a composite resin.
