What is Invisalign Comprehensive?
Invisalign Comprehensive (formerly known as Invisalign Full) is the treatment package, designed to suit patients with more complex cases, where it is not 100% possible to determine the number of aligners you will need to achieve the results you’re aiming for.
By definition, Invisalign Comprehensive (Invisalign Full) is the longest-lasting Invisalign treatment. It can help you achieve your dream smile without opting for fixed braces and being concerned about your appearance. Designed to complement, not interfere with your lifestyle, Invisalign Comprehensive might be your ideal path to a Hollywood smile that wins you minds and hearts.
Invisalign Comprehensive (Full) Vs Invisalign Lite
If you’ve considered straightening your teeth with Invisalign, you’re probably wondering whether you should opt for the Lite or Comprehensive alternative. The best way to decide is to consult with our specialist orthodontist, so you can fully understand the requirements of your specific case.
The main difference between both treatments is the number of aligners. While Lite comes with 14 sets of aligners, Invisalign Comprehensive provides you with an unlimited number of them. Doesn’t this mean more extended treatment? In most cases, it does, but it also means more refined final results. Not to mention that when it comes to complex cases such as bite corrections, severe overcrowding, or larger gaps, Invisalign Lite simply won’t do.
The benefits of Invisalign Comprehensive
Unlimited Aligners
With Invisalign Comprehensive, you can rest assured that your smile will be perfected with infinite sets of aligners.
Invisible braces for complex cases
Invisalign Comprehensive is one of the most inconspicuous treatments for more complex cases, remaining virtually invisible.
Upfront costs
With a set price for the package, there are no unanticipated additional costs – you know what you’ll pay before you begin.
How long does Invisalign Comprehensive take?
While we aim to complete all treatments within up to 18 months, each case is strictly individual, and the total duration will depend on the patient’s clinical necessities and personal requirements.
As a general rule, the orthodontic cases treated with Invisalign Comprehensive require more time than Lite and Express cases. Where a bite correction is needed, or a tooth needs to be rotated to align correctly with the rest of the teeth, it may prove challenging to predict the biological response to treatment and to assign set duration. Your orthodontist will update you on the progress during your appointments and may suggest elastics to help the teeth move faster.
Who is Invisalign Comprehensive right for?
Designed to address more complex cases than the two other packages, Invisalign Comprehensive (Full) is suitable for patients looking to straighten their teeth with clear braces and having one of the following:
- Moderate or severe overcrowding;
- Gapped teeth;
- Overbite;
- Crossbite;
- Open bite;
- Underbite.
Please note that some complex cases may not be suitable for an Invisalign treatment. To find out if you’re a candidate, please book your consultation with our specialist orthodontist and discuss your requirements.
What to expect from a treatment with Invisalign Comprehensive?
As with all other Invisalign treatments, the first part of your journey is creating the treatment plan. During your initial appointment, the orthodontist will create a digital scan of your teeth using a wand 3D scanner. We will then send the scan to Invisalign’s specialists and work alongside them to create a visual representation of your treatment plan. Called ClinChek, the final result is a step-by-step video guide (much like a timelapse), showing how your teeth are expected to move over time.
Once you approve the treatment plan, your initial sets of aligners will be printed in the US and shipped over to us for your first treatment appointment. During this visit to the clinic, we will bond the attachments (tooth-coloured small buttons which help move your teeth) and show you how to use your aligners. We will then need to see you approximately every 6 or 8 weeks to ensure your treatment progresses according to plan.
Invisalign Comprehensive for busy people
One of the most significant advantages of opting for an Invisalign Comprehensive treatment when you have a more complicated orthodontic case is the opportunity to add Dental Monitoring to your treatment plan. Providing you with a device and an app which converts your phone to a 3D scan, Dental Monitoring’s technology will enable you to “visit” your orthodontist without physically attending an appointment.
This advanced, remote orthodontic appointment service, enables busy professionals or keen travellers to straighten their teeth without sacrificing their lifestyle or adding activities to their to-do list.
