CEREC's same-day dental bridge technology

Dental Bridge

CEREC technology is one of the latest innovations in restorative dentistry. This new system allows our dentists to create and apply a restorative treatment within a few short hours.

How does CEREC dental bridge technology work?

When you visit our dentists for a dental bridge, the first step will be thoroughly assessing the health of the gums and teeth in immediate proximity to the missing one. Once the dentist completes the diagnosis, a 3D scan of the teeth is taken. Using the advanced software of the CEREC technology, the dentist then creates a 3D model of the dental bridge and sends the designed image to a milling machine, which mills the restoration from a single ceramic block. When the bridge is ready, the dentist bonds it inside the mouth and adjusts it to ensure you feel comfortable. Find out more about CEREC’s advantage by taking a look at this page.

Dental bridges employ two natural abutment teeth, one on each side of the gap to support the restoration. This means that the crowns of these teeth will be filed down before the restoration is applied.

Resin dental bridge

Resin Dental Bridge

If you have lost a tooth and would like to have a dental bridge yet do not want to file down the teeth around the gap, resin bridge might be the best solution.

The resin bridge is known in the dental world as a temporary bridge. It’s attaching mechanism, using two “wings” bonded with dental cement to the two abutment teeth, is a less stable solution than those of the traditional dental bridge. Nonetheless, if you plan on replacing a missing tooth with an implant, a resin bridge may be a wiser solution.

Depending on the selected materials, a resin bridge can be created using CEREC technology or may require the involvement of a dental lab. During your initial assessment with our dentists you will have the opportunity to discuss the options available to you, timeframes, and costs, so you can make an informed decision.
